Terrible paint!
hi,
We have been using Dulux paints gloss and emulsion for over 20 yrs.
And have found that the Dulux high gloss non drip is absolutely rubbish, the 1st attempt was very disappointing as all the paintwork we glossed(Brilliant White), turned yellow after a 2 wk period, (we thought was a bad batch), so have redone the full house again!!!, and guess what ? the same thing has happened, all the house needs doing again, COME ON DULUX SORT THIS OUT!!!, we would advise to keep away from Dulux High Gloss. Dulux quick dry gloss seems to stay white, very strange.
Very disappointed customers.

Dulux paint went yellow within 2/3 weeks
Hello, our name is Mr and Mrs Aldcroft, we would like to complain about Dulux paint.
We got married in August 2010, we arranged with the Decorator to paint whole house, the white gloss on the wood work all went yellow within 2/3 weeks we could not understand what went wrong so we asked the Decorator to repaint all the wood work with Dulux white gloss, which again went yellow, we had to leave it because we could not afford to repaint again, this cost us double the amount of money for the Decorator and the paint.
At the time we just put it down to maybe a bad batch of paint and had to leave it because we could not afford to repaint.
We have arranged for the decorator to repaint all the gloss for the THIRD TIME within the next couple of weeks. After complaining about the paint going yellow we have been informed that there was a problem with the chemical composition and that many other people have experienced the same problem.
You are more than welcome to come out and look at the paintwork before the Decorator starts, please advise us as soon as possible if you wih to visit us.
We are therefore seeking compensation from you, for the cost of the Decorator, Paint and inconvenience caused to us.

paint turning yellow
we have been using dulux paints for years we needed to have a repaint and brought dulux brilliant white paint paint my hallway and within a couple of weeks it turned yellow we thought we had a bad tin and went and brought a second 5llitre tin painted hallway again and my bedroom and my sons and it has turning yellow i think this is absolutely disappointing we know will have to repaint and put my sons out of their room to do this,i think dulux must have known there paint was rubbish and did nothing about it seems to me that it seems it was about money not about the customer satisfaction .When you work hard and get some holiday you redecorate you think that doing it once was a waste of your time of but to have to do it three times is a joke don't suppose dulux you will come and paint my house.very very very very unhappy customer.

Paint TurningYellow
I thought it was only me being daft when i told my husband the paint was turning yellow after onlly 5 months! l had to re-paint my hall and 7 doors and banister. After only 5 months l couldn't believe it had discoloured so much in such a short time. You could really see the difference and my husband thought l must have used old paint but l assured him it was a new tin.Dulex should have come clean sooner and saved everyone time and effort as well as moneyt!Unfortunately for me l don't have my receipts or any pictures!
Very annoyed and shattered!!

Dulux Brilliant White Non-Drip Gloss
I purchased a second house in Nov 2009 to renovate and rent out. I purchased Dulux Brilliant White Non-Drip gloss as I wanted a quality finish. All 12 doors, door frames, skirting boards and dado rails throughout the 3 bedroom house were sanded, primed and then painted with two coats of Dulux. Within a matter of a month they were yellow, especially the doors. I could not understand it, I thought maybe the previous owners were heavy smokers or something! I could not let the property as it was, so I ended up doing the entire job again, and stupid me with Dulux Brilliant White again!! The same thing happened after a matter of weeks.
I was lucky enough that the tenants had moved in by then and did not mention it, which surprised me. They bought their own house after six months and left, by which time I had to do the job all over again. Still I had no idea it was a KNOWN problem with Dulux. I was ready to replace all the doors I was that fed up with looking at the yellow next to my brilliant white walls, it was so obvious and ugly.
So two months ago I purchased Ronseal Diamond Hard Satinwood in white which guarantees not to yellow and did the whole job for the fourth time and FINALLY it is white - it does exactly what it says on the tin!!
So 10 tins of 2.5L Dulux gloss and many weeks out of my life, I am a very annoyed and disappointed customer. If they had put a recall notice in the DIY stores at least we would have known about it.

yellow wood work
After getting married and decorating our new home in 2010 we are very disapointed with the now yellow wood work.
It took up so much of our time preping and painting only to see the brilliant white turn into foul yellow!
Why did you change your perfect paints?
Now we have a baby and cant find the time to re-decorate.
What have you done Dulux?

Dulux pure brilliant white paint 2.5lt
I have recently heard about the problem Dulux had with there brilliant white paint. In January last year I painted my house from top to bottom with the exception of my bedroom. In the April I realised how yellow the paint work had become, and my bedroom which had been painted for 18months was whiter than the rest of the house. When I went to B&Q to ask advice last May they said that it might of been because of the changes made to paint because of new legislations. They recommended Crown brilliant white paint so I bought it and repainted the whole house and am pleased to say that it it is still white. I will now be using crown paint in the future.
I am still not happy that Dulux did not issue any information on the problems they were having causing I should imagine 1000's of disatisfied customers

Dulux Brilliant White gloss
Painted our house with Dulux Brilliant white gloss paint when we moved in, in June 2005. Everything fine! Before our son was married two years ago we wanted to freshen up the kitchen and bathroom paintwork - so we again bought Dulux Brilliant White Gloss paint. As it was a refresh we blended the whites in places. It was awful. In some places, after only a few months the paintwork looked as if it had never seen paint for years!! As the walls and all units are brilliant white - everything showed up even more. My husband has just finished repainting yet again. He is 74 years old, so it was a real effort. We desperately hope this won't happen this time.
There were six doors alone!

Yellowing Gloss
Hi for years now we have used Dulux Once on all our paint work. We painted our entrance hall 2 months ago and within 1 month it was turning yellow. We toyed with the idea of changing from Dulux altogether but changed our mind and have now gone onto Dulux Satin Gloss so we will wait and see how this goes

PAINT TURNING YELLOW
In December 2011 I had my entire house painted white - including 9 doors, skirting, architraves and bookcases, and now all the woodwork is turning yellow. This cost me £2000. I cannot afford to pay to ahve it done again, and I can't do it myself as I ahve M.E. I also require compensation for the wasted labour, materials, and general inconvenience, as I can't stay in the house whilst paint is drying.

Paint cracking /blistering
Hi me and my partner bought 3 tins on dulux Gentle Fawn matt paint, we had 1 tin of a different batch which we had used on another room, prepared the room as instructed sanded the wall wiped them down we had had a wardrobe plaster boarded up then skimmed. we painted this a week later with white matt emulsion, then painted the room with the gentle fawn first coat of the old tin was fine no problem, However when we applied the second coat we found after a couple of day we were going to apply a third coat when we noticed the paint had lots of little cracks in it and blisters. when i applied the second coat it was warm i thought this was the problem so i sanded the room down and then repeated the procedure with the new batches of paint the same problem has arisen can you give me some advice as you stores were not very help full. phone 07976284375 is the a chance the paint we had is faulty IE bad batch i still have 3/4 of a tin so if you need a sample i can drop it in to your store.
Many thanks Mark Lobley.

Dulux gloss paint
I complained to Dulux that their paint can promised "long lasting beauty" but the brilliant white paint discoloured within months, which amounted to Dulux making a misleading claim about their product. I wanted them to pay for the cost of repainting all my interior woodwork, but they said they had no contract with me. I hadn't kept the receipt from the retailer so I couldn't go back to them for compensation. Dulux gave me vouchers for more of their paint (!) and £100 compensation. Certainly no reflection of the work now ahead of me. It is disgusting that Dulux can't be legally held to account for misleading claims on their cans.

natural hints
Hi
we have used Dulux paint for many years and often the Natural Hints with out any problems. but recently bought Apricot white which is just a very pale cream there is no suggestion of apricot i might just as well just bought any cream paint we are most disappointed because we were not aiming to have cream walls.I will add that i have also used brillant white satin wood and have had no problem with yellowing unlike the gloss.

Dulux high gloss
I recently purchased loads of dulux paint from b and q, hall road, norwich. Was a bit upset as they don't stock trade gloss anymore. My partner said surely the normal high gloss would be just as good.Having just decorated my hallway, six doors, with trade undercoat and trade gloss, I decided to decorate my living room.I am so disappointed with the finish on my doors.High gloss, it is not and Brilliant white definitely not.To top it off, I cannot find my receipts, so I am not a very happy bunny.

dulux paints
Can anyone please tell me if they have had yellowing with water based paints from dulux. We have put our house on the market and after paying the decorator £500 to paint our kitchen cupboards, we wanted them to look fresh and clean for selling, they have not only starting chipping in a very short time but where Ive had to touch up, with the same paints, its turned yellow. They want a sample of the paint on paper and photos, I dont think the photos will turn out but will do it anyway. Im very upset as they now look a mess and blotchy. The decorator was no help when I confronted him with it, he only uses their paints. Its not yellowed on the stuff he put on first, only where i've touched up. Would love to hear from anyone else who has had a problem with water based dulux paints.

Dulux tester pots 3 for £1
21/03/13
I took 3 Dulux tester pots to the counter and asked if they were 3 for £1 as it didn't state so on the shelves, the assistant told me no, not in their store and took me to see a disclaimer notice they had put up - I said but it's been advertised on TV and that is fraud but it didn't make a difference they were still charging £1.69 each. Are they allowed to do that?
The store is Barnitts, 23 -26 Colliergate, City Centre, YORK Tel: 01904 797170
As it is the only shop that stocks paint in the centre and I don't drive can't get to the Industrial Estates, I definitely feel cheated and of course to order online means paying postage.

Dulux matt paint
We bought some Dulux matt paint Hessian colour for kitchen walls. It went on like water had to have 3/4 coats and it is now cracking and in places against kitchen wall units it looks like it is wet but I think the paint is so thin it is colour from before. This is 1st time we have had any trouble with Dulux, and 2.5 litre tin cost £20. If all paint from dulux is this thin I wont be buying it again.
