thin paint
I bought Dulux Antique White Matt. It was very disappointing. I will have to paint the room twice. It would not obliterate the colour i was going over, which was a similar colour only a shade darker. It also was very runny. It certainly appeared if it had been watered down.Admittedly it was discounted in the shop

As a tradesman and a constant user of Dulux products for more than 30 years but I was both surprised and dissapointed after attempting to use your dulux satinwood brilliant white paint. I was applying to a brand new MDF skirting board that was previously primed white and had also had a coat of Dulux white undercoat, although the tin insists their is no need for undercoat. The satinwood paint was like applying PVA with about the same coverage and during the application I noticed that this so called paint was running down the skirting. After attempting to brush it out I gave up and decided to rub it down if needed when dry. I tried applying a second coat as recomended but it was stuill running and the coverage was terrible. I eventually had to purchase a product from Johnstones which I applied with no problem. This problem has cost me extra money and time a mistake I do not want to repeat.
A very dissapointed

Dulux quick dry gloss white
This paint was exceedingly thin and watery and upon application started to separate almost like water and oil. Thinking that this was something to do with the undercoat that I had used I then rubbed down all the paint work and reapplied a different undercoat. Sadly to no avail still the same thing happened again leaving an awful finish. Home base tried to say that the paint should be very watery as it is a quick dry formula but I was not convinced so got a refund. Strangely enough whilst I was there doing the exchange another customer came in and complained of the same thing could this be a dodgy batch or can we expect another watchdog programme in the making

dulux silk
My brother gave me 2 tins of silk emulsion which have never been opened. He has had them for a long time and the paint inside has liquid on top and is solid underneath. I've tried stirring but to no avail. Is there anything I can do with it or is it just fit for the bin?

PAINT GOING YELLOW
Decorated kitchen begining of this year and did the doors and paintwork white but also touch up the rest of house. I am now left with a streaky yellow door but also blotches of yellow on paintwork throughout the house. Thought it was me as it was the first time I had painted by myself until someone told me about all the other people who have had this problem. I havent painted over it yet as i didnt know how it had happened so it is available to see. I hope you are going to address this problem as it isnt my fault and took me a lot of time and effort.

Poor cover Dulux Matt and Silk Calico
Have put three coats of Calico Matt Dulux paints on our hallway walls - two 2.5 ltr tins. We could see the roller marks so bought a new good quality roller sleeve and decided we would try to cover with Calico Silk Dulux but this has not covered the hallway perfectly (two coats using another 2.5 ltr tin). The finish is disappointing and poor - roller marks are still visible. I have the receipts for all paint used (but no paint). Can we complain at our local store and receive a refund?

Colour on walls differs from that on paper catalogue
Your colour Militaty Green 5502 on exterior walls is not looking like that in your card after 3 coats. White patches are seen everywhere. I made a tour of the town and noticed several instances of newly painted houses painted with deep colours of Berger or Asian and are perfect in 2 coats. Why this? How many coats one should be ready to afford for? Why it is not mentioned on the card ? Is it tested on the paper card board and not on cemented walls ?

poor painting service
I gave your company a work of fresh painting of my newly constructed house at Tricone City,Indore through the toll free number given by your site dulux.in (dulux decorating center). The work which I gave to your company officials was not satisfactory and up to the company level mark. There are so many mistakes which I have seen in their work but they are not paying any heed or attention towards their work.Without accepting their fault and without completing their work, they are trying to escape by giving excuses.

Dulux paint smelling of curry
I painted the living room, stairway and landing with dulux jasmine white silk emulsion. (2/4/2014) Now the whole house smells of curry, its two weeks now, and the smell is still strong. I still have some paint left if you would like to test it. I have always used dulux paint, and never had any problems before, but at £30 a tin (I used 3 5ltr tins) I don't feel I should have my house stinking of curry, I am feeling very annoyed and very disappointed in your product.

paint not fit for job
Hi
I am writing to complain about your Dulux Once paint. I painted my wall and a few days later noticed a small mark on the wall so I carefully wiped it with a clean damp cloth. I was astonished to see that the paint came away to reveal the wall itself! I have wiped walls painted with other make of paint and had no such problem. Your paint is not cheap and I thought it was of a high standard but obviously not!
I would like a full refund for the paint which is not fit for the job and am happy to send you the receipt. About from being disappointed with the paint I now have to find a better paint to redo my walls. What a waste of time and money.
I await your response.

neutral grey turns out lilac
Dulux Chic Surprise Matt, 2.5L tin.
Yesterday we bought a 2.5L tin of Dulux Chic Surprise Matt paint from the B&Q''s Arbroath store. Dulux say it is 'a distinct silver grey which is modest and natural' and their site uses a colour with equal RGB values .. i.e. it is completely colour neutral.
The wall is lilac. Lilac was my initial impression. I have asked two other people; one said lilac, the other said purple.
The paint was mixed very thoroughly. It looks grey in the tin, but violet on the wall. The surface it was painted onto was a light mint green in good condition. It has had two coats, although there is no difference in colour after the second coat; both coats were even / uniform colour.
We painted the largest wall in the room, so there is no question of the eye being misled by looking at only a tester patch surrounded by another colour.
The wall looks violet in good daylight. I have tried a daylight lamp on it, rated at 6000K, and the wall still looks violet. With a standard 'warm' energy saver / fluorescent the colour looks more lilac.
Looking at the Dulux catalogue, the colour on the wall is much closer to their 'Violet White' than it is to Chic Surprise. We have looked at the colour samples both onscreen and in the printed booklet / catalogue; Chic Suprise looks consistent in the various samples, including the panel on the actual tin. On the wall the paint is violet .. not 'a hint of violet' .. properly violet.
It looks to me as if the tin may be mislabelled. in any event, the colour in the tin bears little relation to the colour being offered for sale, and therefore it is not fit for its intended use. With paint, the colour is obviously basic to the product and you have to sell the colour that it says on the tin.

Dulux eggshell
i work in a 5 star hotel as the head painter, we've never had any problems with dulux paints until recently
Their eggshell and satinwood paints are very watery, and when eventually dries, it has a gloss finish
So disappointed, we're now going through the process of re painting much of the hotel
With crown paints, a job we could do without.

satinwood paint drying too quick
I have used Dulux paint for a great many years and always recommended it to people however I am finding there quick drying satin wood paint almost impossible to use. The paint is drying on the brush while I am painting making the brush unusable and I am having to wash the brush out every 10 minutes to keep the paint workable.
Has anyone else experienced this problem

Netty
I too have used the Brilliant White gloss paint on doors and skirting boards and within a month it has gone yellow, it took months to save money to have our cellar converted and now the paint work looks awful, and will cost more money to fix it. I will not use Dulux gloss paint again.

still tacky after months
I used Dulux magicoat for my living room, a paint type I had used before. Weeks later it is still tacky to the touch, something is wrong with this paint. More annoyingly I tried to contact Dulux on the web and after completing all my details and my complaint, no matter how I entered it the website would not accept the number/letter confirmation code you have to enter. Why do they need this anyway, my guess is to reduce the complaints they receive!!

watery paint
I bought two tins of White Mist from B&Q Darlington on Saturday. When I started painting, the paint was so thin, I ended up with more on myself than on the wall. It took 4 coats of paint to cover the original colour - yes, I did stir the paint and yes, I did prep the walls. I still have a full tub left and am loath to use it on the rest of the stairs as it is so messy and time consuming. I have sent an email to Dulux and have had no response back - Dulux should take a leaf out of Crowns book, when I complained to them recently, they replied almost immediately and called me for more information! Please advise.
