Shopperdisc.co.uk, they have taken £110 out of my account without my agreement, its a con.
I am submitting this complaint because there has been 11 deductions of £10 from my bank account to Shopperdisc.co.uk from January 2013 to November 4th 2013. I phoned customer services to lodge my complaint on 6/11/2013, a refund of £30 was offered. I am not happy with this as the total amount deducted from my account is £110.00. They said that I would need to lodge an official complaint which I have, I want a full refund of £110.00. Shopperdisk is a scam, they have taken money out of my account without my agreement. Their company have conned me ( along with many others) Do they have a legal duty to return the £110 that they have stolen from my account.
I would appreciate a early reply.
Regards
Mrs Alison Willis

I too was surprised to find 2 lots of £10 had been deducted from my account without my knowledge. the only thing I purchased was from Argos & the sales assistant asked me if i would like a voucher for £15 off my next purchase. I took it, didn't read it or use it & threw it away. When I contacted my bank they explained it was shopperdisc that was taking my money.it was very difficult to get the bank to understand my situation & I had to contact shopperdisc myself to get my money back & to cancel my monthly £10. The company did this immediately but i'm furious that companies can do this without people's knowledge! I suggest people contact both Argos & shopperdisc to stop this happening or ring 03708006769 at shopperdisc to get your payments cancelled. meanwhile I'm contacting the Office of FairTtrading so they can look into this. It's not quite a scam but near enough!!!

Shopper Discounts & Rewards
Hello Forum Members:
We want you to know that we’re here to help you. However, it’s difficult to do that in a public forum when we don’t know who each person is, or the details of their membership.
Shopper Discounts & Rewards is a membership programme that provides great value to people who shop online regularly. Members can benefit from: an initial cashback cheque, a £10 monthly bonus, 20% off giftcards and 10% cashback at over 650 online stores.
The only way you can become a member of Shopper Discounts & Rewards is by completing an online registration form where you need to input your name, email and postal address, and your credit or debit card details. You also need to create and verify a password and agree to our membership terms. Membership is free for the first 30 days so that you can try it out, and after that it is £10 per month. On the sign-up page it is clear, and is mentioned at least four times, that following 30 days free of charge, your membership will cost you a fee each month - hence why you provide your credit/debit card details at this stage. We also send new members six emails within those 30 days, some of which serve as reminders of the membership fee. Members are free to cancel their membership at any time.
We would be happy to help resolve your specific queries or concerns if you contact us directly. You can do so by calling our customer service team at 0800 731 9935 (this is a free phone number) or you can contact me directly at [email protected]. If you contact me, please reference this forum.
Kind regards,
Mary

I looked at my bank account on line and found that on two consecutive months £10 had been taken. I cannot recall signing anything to authorise anyone to take money out as a continuous payment. I don't generally bother with tick boxes, and reading Mary's comment I have certainly not had six or so emails informing me of any contract I had agreed to. What makes me really angry is that my bank is unable to cancel it! This company has control of my bank account, how can that be legal? I will be trying to contact 'Mary', and asking her was I asleep when I took out this agreement? This has made me very wary. I have only lost £20, but that is a lot to me.

unauthorised money from my account for a year !
I have just realised that £ 10 is being deducted from my account every month without my consent as far as I remember. What am I getting for it anyway ?!
This has been going on for a year my bank tell me and I wish to terminate it with immediate effect and be refunded a year's deductions. I'm also told by my bank that I am not the first or will be the last to suffer this from your company.
Not a very nice PA exercise I feel.

shopperdisk
I have just found £10 taken out of my bank account. In further investigation a total of £280 has been taken out of my account by `Shopperdisk` who I have never heard of. Having telephoned Shopperdisk they inform me that I agreed to this when I booked tickets via Ticketmaster in 2011. I have had no emails or any contact with Shopperdisk ever and I am very angry that you would allow something like this on your website. Shopperdisk promised to email me a claim form which I am still waiting for. Did you know that this sort of thing is happening to your customers and if so what are you doing about it. I am absolutely furious about this and hope that you can help in getting me a full refund. I will be very wary of using your website again.

Unauthorised deduction
I have had a unauthorized deduction by Shopperdisc.co.uk on the 30th April 2014. This was the only day I had not done any transactions on my Nationwide account to warrant any entry to be recorded.
What needs to be done to stop this happening again?
I assume from the reply I will get you will need some more details.

How to beat them
If you purchased from Argos by credit card complain. They will refund. Complain to Shopper Discout. They will offer £30 but keep on and they will email you a form to recover the rest. Complain to Argos, don't get put off by the first customer services person you speak to, ask to be put through to a manager and really go to town. Advise them to google Argos and Shopper Discount to see the damage it is doing to their reputation.
Finally contact the Information Commissioner's Office. It is possible that what they are doing might breach the data protection act. Either way, it will. Make Argos think and they will have to respond.

Shopper Discounts & Rewards
Hello aditza55:
We will be happy to assist you but we first need to identify your membership record which we currently have not been able to do. Please get in touch with Shopper Discounts & Rewards directly using the following details: [email protected], 0800 731 9935, or you can contact me directly at [email protected].
Shopper Discounts and Rewards is a savings programme for people who shop online regularly. The membership benefits include 10% cashback at over 650 online retailers, 20% off popular gift cards and a monthly cashback reward. It’s free for the first 30 days so you can try it out, and after that there is a monthly fee. Members can cancel their membership at any time.
The only way to become a member is to enter your details in full on the Shopper Discounts & Rewards sign-up page. The details required are: your name, your email address (twice), your postal address, a new password (twice) and your credit or debit card details for the monthly billing. It is mentioned in several places that following 30 days free membership, there is a monthly fee - hence why you are required to provide your credit/debit card details on the sign-up page.
